On the 12th February 2024, Figen Ayan, President of MedCruise, along with Anja Lohrum, Interim Secretary General, attended the BlueMissionMed General Assembly, hosted in Brussels at the Borschette Congress Centre. During the event, the European Commission and stakeholders of the Mission Implementation Platform discussed about the great progress made in the first year of the EU funded BlueMissionMed project and outlined future actions aimed at realizing the objectives of the EU Mission Ocean.
Given MedCruise’s pivotal role in putting the ports’ in the front row of solutions and actions for the EU targets, our President had the privilege of presenting MedCruise’s extensive sustainability initiatives. This included highlighting our collaboration with GSTC, our latest Professional Development Course focused on sustainable practices onboard MSC Fantasia, our studies, survey or creation of valuable working groups covering targeted environmental solutions, such as AIVP or the latest Atlantic Working Group.
